The Friendly City

The City of San Juan and the San Juan Economic Development Corporation (SJEDC) are planning for their annual Cinco de Mayo Cook-off and Festival to be held at the San Juan Municipal Park on Saturday, May 7. This event was formally held in March and known as Spring Fiesta. The festival will feature games, rides, food and an IBCA sanctioned BBQ Cook-off.
As a measure to bolster competition and diversity in grilling style, the San Juan Cook-Off event will be sanctioned by the International Barbecue Cooker's Association. Fire up those Rio South Texas grills because there will be over $2,000 in cash and prizes for 1st thru 5th places. Categories included in this year's contest are: fajita, chicken, pork spare ribs and brisket. For a complete list of rules, go to www.ibcabbq.org.

In order to share the media spotlight, sponsors are encouraged to pledge by April 22 to allow for marketing opportunities on TV, radio and print media.
